We are all Newtown…I remember as if it were yesterday… The phone rang and I couldn’t answer because I was on a work call. The sound of helicopters… My husband frantically calling from his job in NY. Then the call… the lockdown of all Newtown Schools. The panic… A shooter… my son at the HS. Then the gut-wrenching reality… hit after hit… A shooter… at Sandy Hook Elementary. The thoughts… a domestic thing? The police scanner… people in the woods… get someone in there… multiple people… THEN… reality… the principle was shot and the HARSH reality… 20 children… CHILDREN!!!! gone. Tears… so many tears… never enough tears… All came crashing back watching Newtown. I watched… not because I wanted to… But because I felt that I had to… it is the least that I could do to honor those who suffered so. Collectively we are such an effed up country. Money rules… our values so twisted. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. I keep them in my thoughts every day.
